About the project
OakBrook managed the temporary on-site relocation of tenants during the phased rehabilitation and conversion of 104 hotel rooms into permanent housing units at Homekey 1 Edes. The approximately 17-month rehabilitation was divided into four major construction phases, requiring tenants to be temporarily relocated in sequence as work progressed. OakBrook coordinated tenant communications and notices, relocation scheduling, packing and movement of personal belongings, temporary unit assignments, and the transfer of property-owned furnishings to secure storage. Relocation activities were closely coordinated with the construction schedule to ensure units were fully vacated and available at the start of each phase. Tenants remained on-site throughout the project, allowing construction to proceed safely while minimizing disruption to residents and ongoing property operations.
